We are primarily tasked with providing power transmission services, system services and facilitating the energy market. Our core tasks follow from our appointment as grid operator under the Dutch 'Elektriciteitswet' (E-wet) and the German 'Energiewirtschaftsgesetz' (EnWG).
An important milestone was achieved with the partial commissioning of the 380 kV Altenfeld-Redwitz line in December 2015!
About the project
This milestone is of central importance for the security of supply in northern Bavaria and contributes to the success of the energy transition.
The roughly 30 kilometre long supply line is of immense importance for the security of supply of Franconia, especially after the shut-down of the Grafenrheinfeld nuclear power plant. After issuing of the planning approval in January 2015, the planning phase was completed and construction work began on the Bavarian side, which was completed successfully in December 2015.
