We are primarily tasked with providing power transmission services, system services and facilitating the energy market. Our core tasks follow from our appointment as grid operator under the Dutch 'Elektriciteitswet' (E-wet) and the German 'Energiewirtschaftsgesetz' (EnWG).
Our customers include everyone connected to the high voltage electricity grid as well as the metering responsible parties and programme responsible parties.
TenneT operates the national high-voltage grid in the Netherlands and a large part of the German grid, providing connection, transmission and system services to balance the supply and demand of electricity. Our wide range of customers include:
- Parties connected to the high-voltage grid, such as
- Electricity producers
- Regional grid operators
- Balance Responsible Parties (BRPs)
- Metering Responsible Parties (MRPs)
Our customers are important to us and we apply high standards to our customer service, which we constantly strive to improve. Our Customer Care Centre is the first point of contact for all customer questions. We also have Customer Relations Managers acting as a single point of contact for customers in each region.
Because electricity disruptions can have an enormous impact on homes and businesses, we make every effort to prevent power failures or, if they do occur, to restore the electricity supply as soon as possible. All disruptions are registered on our website.
